What is the Iron Man Golf Challenge?

The Iron Man Golf Challenge is a high‑energy, endurance‑driven test of teamwork and determination — a 27‑hole marathon played in three distinct formats: Scramble, Alternate Shot and Best Ball. It’s fast‑paced, competitive, and packed with the kind of camaraderie that comes from pushing your limits alongside friends.


But it’s more than a long day on the course. The Iron Man Golf Challenge creates a powerful opportunity to support Manatee County FCA and the ministry happening in our schools and on our teams. Every hole played, every score recorded, and every team registered helps fuel life‑changing impact for students and coaches right here at home.


Whether you come for the challenge, the teamwork, or the shared experience of grinding through all 27 holes, this event promises an unforgettable day for a cause that matters.

EVENT DETAILS

The Iron Man Golf Challenge is a true test of endurance and golfing skills.

Entry is limited to the first 9 Teams to register.

EVENT FORMAT

Scramble: Holes 1-9

  • Both players tee off, then the team selects the best shot.
  • Everyone plays their next shot from that chosen spot.
  • This pattern continues until the ball is holed.
  • Teams record one score per hole, based on the collective best shots.

Modified Alternate Shot: Holes 10-18

  • Both players tee off, giving the team two opening options.
  • The team selects the best tee shot, and from that point forward, players alternate hitting shots into the hole.
  • If Player A’s drive is selected, Player B hits the next shot, then A hits the third, and so on — and vice versa.
  • Only one ball is used after the tee shots.

Best Ball: Holes 19-27

  • Each player plays their own ball from tee to green.
  • After the hole is completed, the team takes the lowest individual score as the team score.

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • All players are automatically entered into the closest to the hole on course competitions.
  • Optional entry into the Skins game during  each round of 9 holes
